Swimming with Dolphins and friendly Seals in the warm Bay of Plenty waters in New Zealand.
Diveworks Charters is embarking on its 22nd year in operation and is a genuine family affair. Phil designed and purpose-built the 10m Diveworks boat so it easily handles the sea and is great for divers and snorkelers! There is also plenty of deck space for fishing groups.
During summer, Diveworks Dolphin and Seal Encounters provides the opportunity to swim, view and enjoy dolphins that have come into the Bay of Plenty to feed and breed. Sightings of baby dolphin are incredible and the friendly Kekeno seals love to swim and play in a swimming bay at Whale Island.
Diveworks Whale Island Guided Walks are filled with first-hand island information and history. Since 1988 Phil has been tagging along with DOC and Landcare Research; clearing tracks, transporting Saddleback, kiwi and thousands of pohutukawa and rare natives to the Island. He is passionate about Whale Island, and showing you how wonderful the wildlife sanctuary has become.
During the NZ summer months (about mid Nov-May) the Eastern Bay of Plenty becomes home to 1000’s of Dolphins and many Whales. Seals are able to be seen and swam with year round.
